I recently acquired a beautiful by non-working Aeolian Grand player
from an aged aunt, and transported it 500 miles to my home in Colorado.
There are several issues that I'm working with:
1) I have only the serial number, 14505, so I don't know its age or
even the model number, if any;
2) I haven't been able to get it to "sing" the first note, so I'm sure
that there's a bellows issue;
3) After finally finding some of the "secret catches," I was able to
open the front and find that it formerly had player capabilities,
though the parts that made that magic happen were removed many years
ago. There apparently was an electric blower at some time in its life,
also now long gone.
So, if anyone can tell me more about my treasure from its serial number,
I will be most grateful to know what I'm working with. If the wind
problem can be fixed, we will have a manual organ. If someone knows of
parts available for the 58-note player mechanism, I will be delighted
to talk about finding them a new home.
Thanks in advance for any help!
