Hello Paul Collenette, and everyone at MMD! Many thanks to you,
Paul, and to everyone who has emailed to say "thank you" for making
these letters available. I am very glad that the compilation has been
so warmly received, and that the letters themselves have brought back
memories for those who knew the Medcrafts. I am also very pleased to
be able to share their achievements -- and their warm and welcoming
personalities -- with folks who are encountering their story for the
first time.
I also want to say "thank you" to the Mechanical Music Digest itself.
In the short time that I have been receiving this newsletter, it has
been easy to see what an invaluable resource it is for so many people
who share the same passion for mechanical instruments of all kinds.
It is such a terrific service toward the end of information sharing,
and all one has to do is read The Medcraft Letters to be reminded of
a time when people waited months to receive needed information.
So, with that and spring fundraising efforts in mind, I have decided
that I would like to make a donation to the MMD to help the effort
along in some way. Therefore, I am pledging 20% of all sales of The
Medcraft Letters, Minnesota, that are made in the month of June, 2010,
to the MMD as a way of saying "thank you" for making this remarkable
resource available for so many people. The eBook version is available
for download at my web site http://www.farqpro.com/
As a closing note, I would like to say that I welcome any and all
impressions, thoughts, reactions, and opinions regarding the book and
I encourage folks to drop me an email to let me know what they think!
Thanks again for reading, and many thanks to all at the MMD for your
encouragement!
Sincerely,
James Matheson
