Mike Walter has written a couple of articles here regarding the AMICA
Convention in Buffalo, but I wanted to add my two cents also. Since
the cutoff date for the special convention rate at the hotel is the
6th of June you need to get on the ball.
The area is beautiful, and of course the Niagara Falls are wonderful,
and a thrill to see no matter how many times you are in the area.
Just look at what they have planned for us, and you will see that there
are visits to places you probably would never see on your own, and
everything is more fun when you are with a group of like-minded people.
Mike and his crew have put together a great trip and I encourage you
to participate. If you love mechanical music this is your chance to
be in the middle of people who have the same interest. Frank and I
love the conventions, and the people are the biggest asset, I think --
we think of them as our once-a-year friends.
This area, though, has many fine attractions, and we will visit many
of them without having to drive unfamiliar streets and worrying about
parking. There will also be a super organ rally on the grounds of the
Wurlitzer factory, with about 30 organs to serenade you, and a visit
to the Herschell-Spillman Carousel Museum is always a thrill. The
workshops sound interesting, and you can always find something at the
mart. For those who like to gamble the casino is right there for your
enjoyment.
All in all, there is something for everyone, and you really should try
to attend. Hurry, though -- the deadline is approaching.
