Fred Dahlinger sends additional information and corrections about
the large Carl Frei organs. He says the LP record, Decca Eclipse
ECS 2080, "Carl Frei Concert Organ - Medley Of Music Arranged By
Carl Frei", is a recording of the 105-key Carl Frei, Jr. organ in the
George Cushing collection at Thursford, England. It was assembled by
Carl Frei, Jr., reportedly from a Mortier and an earlier Frei-built
instrument. It's a different machine that the ex-Barth 125-key that
is now in the possession of Hanspeter Kyburz.
Fred writes:
"A third Carl Frei instrument also not to be confused with it is
the 112-key device in Seewen, Switzerland.
"These latter two organs [125-key & 112-key] were both originally
constructed under the dominion of Carl Frei, Sr., with Carl, Jr.
working in the shop, and were later expanded by Carl, Jr., after his
father's passing. LPs were also been issued of these two organs in
years past."
