Vacuuming the Player Piano Tracker Bar
By Bruce Clark

In regard to vacuuming a tracker bar using a modern vacuum cleaner,
think of it this way: the old style hand pumps were invented and used
before the days of modern high-power vacuum cleaners.

If one tests a hand-held tracker bar vacuum device on a vacuum gauge,
you will discover the old-style hand pump produce higher and more
irregular vacuum than a modern high-power vacuum cleaner produces.
Therefore a modern vacuum cleaner or shop vac would be easier on the
player pouches than pulsating a higher vacuum with the old-style hand
pump.

I have used a vacuum cleaner for vacuuming tracker bars for many years,
and never have had any problems caused by using this method.
