The traditional auction of mechanical music and automata will take
place in Chartres, France (one hour from Paris) on Sunday, May 16,
2010.
There are about 192 items for sale:
-- ca. fifty good automata and some singing birds in cage.
By Bontems, Decamps, Elie Martin, Lambert, Phalibois, Renou,
Farkas, Vichy (Bob et son cochon savant, Bob and his learned pig).
-- many items in mechanical music, among them:
Very rare Russian barrel organ by Ivan Vassilievitch Netchada,
Odessa; 26 notes, 6 registers, ca. 1900;
A good 1881 barrel organ by Poirot, Mirecourt, 26 notes, 2
registers, 2 cylinders with eight songs each (including "La
Marseillaise");
An orchestral musical box with drum and six bells;
Two musical picture clocks;
Many musical novelties (clocks, pianos, pneumatic accordion, etc.);
