I have a general question about player piano maintenance and dust.
I have a tracker bar pump to extract dust from the tracker bar. But,
sometimes I feel that it doesn't do a complete job. What other methods
can one employ to remove the dust from the bar?
Also, what about dust on other parts of the piano? Dust can accumulate
between the keys on the keyboard. The easy solution is to keep the
cover closed when the piano is not in use. A number of people, myself
included, prefer to keep the cover open. I find the sight of the
keyboard more inviting. However, an exposed keyboard will attract
dust, some of which will fall through the cracks between the keys.
Do you employ any other methods besides common dusting and vacuuming
to keep the keyboard clean? How often?
Musical thanks,
Joyce Brite
