Pneumatic Cloth for Late Schulz Pouch Block
By Joel Cluskey
A lot has been written about the thinner Schulz pneumatic cloth that
was used on the mini-valve pneumatics in the earlier Schulz players.
I am working on a late Schulz upright that does not have the miniature
pneumatics -- this one has lead-weighted valve stems and pouch blocks
covered with rubberized cloth.
The old hardened rubber cloth on the valve blocks appear to be about
the same thickness as standard pneumatic cloth available today. Has
anyone had problems using the standard weight rubber cloth (.008" -
.009") for these pouch blocks, or is there a source for something
thinner?
