I want to thank everyone who provided information on photoplayers that
still survive today. You all have been very helpful and informative,
and your input is very much appreciated.
At this time I have about 52 instruments on my list of photoplayers,
but that doesn't mean the list is complete. There might be a few
more complete instruments lurking out there somewhere. One of the
existing photoplayers is actually a replica of a Seeburg R. I was
wondering if someone was going to build a modern copy at some point.
Does anyone know who currently owns the Wurlitzer O that was in
the Gay 90's Village collection? One of the first mechanical music
recordings I came across was the album "Before Talkies and T.V.",
which features this instrument. According to the record jacket, the
serial number of this instrument is 42166. If anyone has any further
information on the whereabouts of this style O, please let me know.
Again, thank you all for your help. MMD is a valuable asset to the
mechanical music community!
