The Monkey Returns as the Organ
By Jon Large

Hi All, A bit of a tangent on the live vs. puppet monkey thread.
I am currently building a 'pyrophone' type barrel organ in the form of
a 6-foot high baboon. He has the pin barrel in an open chest cavity,
which is actuated by turning his tail. The melody is played out of a
'Mohican' of eight steel organ pipes on his head, which utilise ignited
propane gas to resonate the air.

I've a simple model and animation on http://www.thepressurecompany.org/
> devices > baBoom. He'll be ready for show in June. Will post photos
if anyone is interested.
