Greetings. I'm not sure why anyone would want a Teflon (PTFE)
coated cloth for player work. Various PTFE elastomers have useful
properties, such as high temperature and chemical resistance and of
course non-stick properties. However, they are generally difficult
to work with, and especially difficult getting them to stick to
anything. A single-side coated fabric could not be glued on the
coating side without the use of special bonding materials. There
are probably better materials to use for coating if one wants to
experiment. I would try silicone or possibly PVC.
In the course of trying to find a source for another coated product,
I recently talked with an owner of a small fabric coating company.
He enjoys developing new products and might be willing to work on
some new coated fabrics for player work. He knows of many coatings
and application processes. His specialty is small production runs,
unlike most of the coating companies that want to do dozens or
hundreds of bolts per order.
