"The Crazy Otto" rag medley is an old favourite of mine. I would
dearly love to learn how to play it on any piano that shows up in
front of me when appropriate. The search for sheet music of this
piece has been frustrating, and I'm not one of those folks who can
how learn from the piano roll. I need notes on paper. So, we're
posting this as a long shot: If by chance anyone out there has made
sheet music from this roll, or has the roll, the time, and the
technology to do it for a fee, we would be very pleased to hear
about it.
Thank you very much,
Lee Rothrock
[ The version of "The Crazy Otto" that I perform runs three minutes
[ and spans about 160 measures, which equates to 10 pages of music
[ if it were transcribed. The medley, originally played by "Schräger
[ Otto" (Fritz Schultz-Reichel) contains these five songs:
[
[ (1) Ivory Rag (Lou Busch, 1950)
[ (2) In der Nacht ist der Mensch nicht gern alleine (Fr. Grothe, 1944)
[ (3) Das machen nur die Beine von Dolores (Michael Jary)
[ (4) Was macht der alte Seemann? (unknown)
[ (5) Won't You Play a Simple Melody (Irving Berlin, 1914)
