Mechanical Music in the Movies & TV
By Joe Kemph

Hello all, I have the movie "Rear Window" and yes, it does sound
like an orchestrion playing -- it sounds great. I have recently bought
22 volumes of "The Twilight Zone". In Volume 26 there is an episode
called "A Piano in the House". Does anyone know what make this player
piano is?

Also, I have bought the first two seasons of "The Waltons". In season
two, episode 7, "The Prize", there is a band organ playing at the
county fair. It looks somewhat like a Wurlitzer 105 but the cymbal is
mounted under the bass drum shelf. It appears to actually be playing.
There is a great shot of it with John Boy standing right in front of
it. Has anyone seen it and does anyone know what make and model this
is? I hope to make it to a few band organ rallies this summer.

Trying to keep warm in western Pennsylvania,
Joe Kemph
