Mechanical Music in the Movies: "Rear Window"
By Rob Goodale

Sometimes when I work in my shop I have the TV on. Today one of the
old movies showing was "Rear Window" with James Stewart, one of my
favorite classics. When it ends the music playing during the closing
credits sounds _distinctly_ like an orchestrion. The instrumentation
is simple with fox-trot piano, bass, snare, triangle, and xylophone.
Can anyone verify if this is a music machine, and if so, what? It sure
sounds like one!
