Albert Petrak here, completely puzzled and thoroughly confused, asking
for your indulgence while I clarify some things. The collection for
each roll company is indeed in my web site, as most of you know, but
to find a particular item which you desire or have heard of takes time
and searching. I make it easy by listing all those artists who have
contributed at least three to five performances and their complete
contributions.
In case my fancy has confused you, the offerings are as follows:
- the complete Duo-Art (U.S.);
- the complete UK production;
- the complete Welte (original German "red roll") up to the end with
Rudolf Serkin the last artist to be engaged.
- the Welte-Deluxe production, called "Licensee".
- Artrio-Angelus; Art-Echo, Recordo, etc., all spelled out for you.
Ampico is not ready yet, but will follow. Mr. Philipps DUCA is filled
with "goodies" by many of the greatest artists, but almost impossible
to find, nor are the pianos available anywhere.
Now, this information is in my computer... With the touch of the
cursor it can be in yours. If it turns out to be useful, bravo, if
not, delete it. No charge ever, believe me. I have furnished this
information in my web site, but thought to give you a boost for the
holidays, if you have time and inclination. So come on! Make my
day(s) during this holiday time. We'll all feel better, I'll warrant.
Bless Robbie and Jody for their indulgence. They have consistently
furnished the information desired for the entire span of mechanical
sounding devices, and we should all thank and support them. As Jody
has asked, if you haven't contributed yet to the fund-raising, please
give it a thought and act.
Always the best from,
Albert M. Petrak, Founder - The Reproducing Piano Roll Foundation
