We have a fully-restored, re-pinned, and excellently playing Swiss
musical box by the renowned maker David LeCoultre. Its serial number
is 9954, which places it at ca. 1847. The 10 7/8" cylinder plays six
airs on a comb of 112 teeth, all with the typical LeCoultre square-cut
tips, and stamped D LeCoultre.
It is in a rectangular scumbled case with hinged end flap, the inside
finished in red "dragon's blood." The tune sheet is hand-written on
plain paper, and appears to be original. The winding key is probably
original.
