Recutting Duo-Art "Die Walkuere"
By Bruce Grimes

I have received copies from Julian Dyer of the two-roll set of "The
Valkyrie" on Duo-Art. They are absolutely perfect, hole-for-hole like
the originals. The Theme holes are the right size and register as
they should. No one -- and I've been buying recuts since Larry Givens
began making copies -- no one has made Duo-Art rolls so close to the
originals.

This set moves us one step closer to finishing a project begun by the
Powells to copy all of the Ring Cycle -- all that is left is "Siegfried".
If you want copies of either "Siegfried" or "Die Walküre", contact
Julian. Expect to pay as much as you would on eBay, but know that
it's new paper, and not warped. The paper is the right thickness so
it won't speed up as it piles up, or run slow because it's too thin.
It's perfect.

 [
[ Wagner's tetralogy, "Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the
[ Nibelung)" is a cycle of four epic operas or 'music dramas' by the
[ German composer Richard Wagner (1813-1883). The operas are based
[ loosely on characters from the Norse sagas and the Nibelungenlied.
[ The works are often referred to as "The Ring Cycle", "Wagner's
[ Ring", or simply "The Ring". The four operas that constitute the
[ Ring cycle are, in the order of the imagined events they portray:
 [
[ * Das Rheingold (The Rhinegold)
[ * Die Walküre (The Valkyrie)
 [ * Siegfried
[ * Götterdämmerung (The Twilight of the Gods)
