Musical Vertu
By Christopher Proudfoot

The "Musical Vertu" mentioned in the Bonhams advertisement in the
091026 MMD sounds intriguing. What on earth could that be? Would
Musical Sin (Musical Peche) be more enjoyable?

With apologies to every French reader: my email programme won't let me
put a circumflex on "Pêche"! [added here by Relief Editor]

Regards from an old pedant,
Christopher Proudfoot

[ According to my unabridged dictionary, "vertu" is a variant spelling
[ of "virtu" and refers to "productions of art, esp. of a curious or
[ antique nature." We leave it to Bonhams to say whether the objects
[ are curious or antique or both.
