Bonhams Autumn Auction of Fine Mechanical Music and Scientific
Instruments will be held at Knightsbridge on November 10, 2009, with
viewing starting at 11:02 a.m., Sunday, November 8 (Remembrance
Sunday).
The usual sections will include: wireless, automata, singing birds,
musical vertu, cylinder musical boxes, disc musical boxes, jukeboxes
and other coin-operated machines, and a very healthy scientific
selection. Highlights include a "Brilliannto Notonail" three-air key-
wind musical box, circa 1819; an early two-air snuff box by F. Nicole;
a Persian Magician automaton timepiece; six fusee singing bird boxes,
from Bruguier to Rochat, all in superb working order and condition; and
a fine quatre longe-marche interchangeable cylinder musical box by
Nicole frères.
