Pianola in Chicago
By Darius Kucinskas

Mr. John A. Tuttle suggested I might find help here. I am doing
research on Lithuanian music for the pianola. It is still terra
incognita, even for Lithuanian musicologists. There is only one such
roll in the Lithuanian state archives.

But I found approximately thirty rolls in the Chicago Lithuanian
Musicological Archive:

Most are QRS rolls, ca.1922-1925.

But the Chicago archive does not have a pianola. Can anyone help me
locate a working instrument in the Chicago area for playing these
rolls? My aim is to identify the music and to record it to my laptop.
