Instruments Mechanical Music & Musical clocks at Cuckooland, England
Hi Group, I just finished watching a superbly well presented and
really informative DVD based on Black Forest cuckoo clocks, which are
the main exhibits at Cuckooland Museum in Tabley, near Knutsford,
Cheshire, UK, regarded by many as the biggest and most diverse
collection in the world.
What I think may of be interest to other members of this group is not
only the amount of musical clocks in their collection, which can be
seen and heard playing on the DVD, but the wealth of different organs
to be seen and heard. I think I counted about seven, including a large
Ruth and a Bruder. One can be heard playing the very fitting 'Cuckoo
Waltz'.
Maz and Roman Piekarski, who are the owners, curators, and full-time
restorers of the museum, have had this DVD produced to help fund the
maintenance of the collection. It's priced at just 10 GBP plus post
and packing.
It's a quirky little gem that I really recommend you have a look at.
