M611580 "Toccata" is Played by Leopold Godowsky
By Dave Krall

Glenn Amer inquired about the Recordo roll M611580, "Toccata".
That is a transfer of Artrio Angelus No. 8127 of the Saint-Saens
"Toccata", Op. 111, played by Leopold Godowsky.

The re-coding of the "Toccata", as well as all the transfers of
Artrio Angelus rolls to Recordo, was done by the very talented P.K.
VanYorx who headed up the Wilcox & White recording studio in Meriden,
Connecticut, and continued in that position after the QRS took over
Wilcox & White at the beginning of 1926. At that time VanYorx was
responsible for coding of the late Type C Recordo rolls for QRS.
