Seek Universal Nickelodeon "O" Rolls
By Tom Hutchinson

MMD, I recently attended the two-day auction at Player Piano Company
in Wichita. One of the items I diligently looked for was the half
"O" rolls that were produced for the Universal nickelodeon. These are
simply standard "O" rolls that have been divided into two or three
standard large flanged rolls and re-spooled.

I found none in the boxed Universal format; however, another attendee
heard that I was looking for these rolls. It turned out that he had
bought several boxes of loose unmarked, unboxed Universal rolls. I
purchased these from him and after several days of sorting, adding new
leaders, splicing etc. I have come up with a sizeable number of to me
new Universal "O" rolls.

My question is, did anyone else come across more of these unmarked "O"
rolls? There were literally dozens of lots of loose large core rolls,
too numerous to examine them all. If anyone else came across more of
these rolls in the "O" roll format and have no use for them I would be
interested in purchasing them.

Thanks, Tom Hutchinson
