I am greatly saddened to hear of the untimely death of Marty.
Although I have never met him we had a common love of mechanical
musical Instruments and I had corresponded with him over technical
details of some of his instruments.  Marty's "Mechantiques" web
site was an example of how to conduct business over great distances
and I always found his appraisals to be honest and fair.  Through
this business many collectors were able to acquire instruments they
would not otherwise be able to.  Marty's passing will be felt
deeply across the whole mechanical music fraternity.
