I am helping John Joswick to complete the Brailowsky recording project,
initiated in May 2004, to make a CD of the Ampico performances to
present to Brailowsky's brother-in-law who is now 91 years old. The
project suffered a big setback earlier this year with the sudden death
of his collaborator, music collector Jon Skinner, who was gathering
MIDI files of the Ampico rolls, because the music files cannot now be
found nor can his correspondence with Ampico roll collectors.
So we are starting anew, this time with assistance from Spencer Chase
who has already transcribed several original Brailowsky rolls. Now
we must borrow these remaining Ampico performances to transcribe and
record:
67681H Chopin: Etude Op. 25, No. 12, C-minor
67783H de Falla: Ritual Fire Dance
68783H Wagner-Liszt: Spinnerleid "Der Fliegende Hollander"
69783H Grieg: Papillon Op. 43, No. 1 & Liszt: Au Bord d'une Source
69993H Saint-Saens: Rhapsodie d'Auvergne Op. 73, C-major
70503 Chopin: Polonaise Op. 71, No. 2, B-flat
70631 Faure: Impromptu, Op. 34, No. 3, A-flat
Please contact Spencer or me if you can help.
Thank you,
