Bonhams Mechanical Music Sale 28 April 2009

This 202 lot sale (141 lots of mechanical music) is titled, as usual,
Mechanical Music and Scientific Instruments, to be held on Tuesday 28
April at the Knightsbridge rooms.

3 early 19th Century barrel organ on stands; a Rowe type II jukebox;
a Delong Cowboy Bandit; An HMV 460 table Luminere gramophone;
Edison Bell Discophone; E. R. Houdin automaton Magician timepiece;
a tri-singing bird jumpers in tree timepiece by Bontems; French
singing humming bird automaton carriage clock; gilt and enamel singing
bird box with clock; fabulous fuse Bruguier bird box, No. 47; four
further good singing bird boxes; Phalibois musical monkey ironer
automaton; two further musical glass domed automatons; a steam yacht;
four-cylinder revolver cylinder box; four good key-wind boxes, one of
which plays overtures; a good piano-forte box; three bell boxes; three
tremolo-zither boxes; six further boxes with varying features; a gilt
sur-plateau musical snuffbox; a Polyphon 19.5/8-inch upright with
original bin and two smaller Brittania disc musical boxes  -- and
much, much, more!

The sale starts with a very impressive radio collection with one of
the best selections of catalin radios ever offered in an auction.
