Ben, why not Google "clock chime MIDI download" and see what comes up?
A lot of neat stuff!
For those wishing to create their own MIDI files, the musical notation
for over three dozen clock chimes may be found in "DeCarle's Watch &
Clock Encyclopedia," by Donald deCarle, originally published by Norwood
Publications Ltd. and more recently (1977) by Bonanza Books. The
chimes information given was compiled from an article in the (British)
"Horological Journal" of December 1941.
Traditionally, chimes using bells avoid the striking of two or more
bells simultaneously, as so doing tends to create a clashing effect.
With the metal-rod chimes found in most of the recent -- but still
mechanical -- clocks, this tradition is continued except for the
striking of the hours, where a chord may be used.
Chime effects using chords are often featured on piano rolls such as
"Three O'clock In The Morning" and "Wedding Bells Are Breaking Up That
Old Gang Of Mine," many Christmas rolls, and of course the Model B
Ampico/Ampichron "Chimes" roll.
