Autopiano Reservoir Sizes
By S. Lee Walker

[ Ref. http://www.mmdigest.com/Archives/Digests/200812/2008.12.22.07.html

I installed identical springs in the reservoirs and repaired leaks in
the lower pump reservoir. Now it takes ten seconds to fully open.

The motor runs fast. With all openings in lower stack sealed, the vacuum
is 13 inches. There is not enough vacuum on the stack pump side.

The reservoirs are not the same size. The motor reservoir size is
13" x 9-1/2", the stack reservoir size is 11" x 9-1/2". The Autoplayer
manual has a picture which shows both reservoirs the same size.
I would think the stack reservoir would need more vacuum volume.

I believe the flap values may be leaking. The leather is somewhat stiff
and may not seal. I have rigged a spring device which will hold the
flap valve closed and yet will allow it to open. I checked this by
removing the inspection plate and taped a clear flexible plastic plate
to view the valve. This will be tested later.

The motor reservoir has a small pneumatic, "the expression." I look
forward for comments and advice.
