Ref. 090223 MMDigest, List of Coinola Style "O" Rolls, by Tom Hutchinson
O-2118 on the list is actually Columbia O-617, one of the first rolls
I had Ray Siou recut it years ago and it remains one of my favorite
rolls. It is on the list also as 617 which is correct.
The Excel sheet lists 1028 which is actually 10-28, the 28th roll that
Ray Siou made up from other rolls. The real 1028 is a Columbia roll:
Columbia 1028
1. When You Look in the Heart of a Rose
2. On the Level You're a little Devil
3. Don't Cry Frenchy, Don't Cry
4. Everybody Wants a Key to My Cellar
5. Alabama Lullaby
6. You're Still an Old Sweetheart of Mine
7. Mary
8. You Cannot Shake That Shimmie Here
9. Minnie Shimmie for Me
10. The Alcoholic Blues
Most of the rolls on the list are composite rolls, which is confusing.
Ray Siou made up these rolls during his years of selling music rolls.
If you could note the source of your information -- such as from
the original roll box or "Play-Rite", etc. -- then you could start
to tell the difference between the Ray Siou composites and the rolls
originally issued in the 1910 to 1930 years. Roll 200, for example,
is not Columbia roll O-200 but actually a number that Ray Siou assigned
to his composite roll.
Rolls in the 2000 series are all Clark rolls.
