Wood Found in Player Pianos
By Ben Haass

[ Ref. 090306 MMDigest, Seek Marshall & Rose Angelus Pouch Boxes ]

Michael, Anytime you see wood with that greenish color to it, it is
usually poplar. You can buy it at any lumberyard or even Home Depot.
It is a very reasonably priced wood and easy to work with.

It is not actually part of the poplar family but for some reason
it is called poplar. The botanical name is Liriodendron tulipifera.
It is also called tulip tree or tulip poplar. I think it is
actually more closely related to magnolia than anything.
