Its good to see the current interest in Jimmy Blythe, Clarence
Williams and Lem Fowler. Fowler has always been my favorite piano
roll artist.
I've been working on a project for my early piano blues series.
Volume 3 is titled "Jelly's Blues", named after Clarence Johnson.
This CD is all piano rolls where I have attempted to add dynamics
to the MIDI files to make them sound "live". I then recorded them
on my 7' Yamaha "Pro" series Disklavier.
I have written eight pages of notes with a brief history of player
pianos and information about the music and musicians. You can
listen to a file on my web site, http://www.pianomania.com/
Click on the news button and you will hear Jimmy Blythe playing
his composition, "Society Blues". Then click on the square of
"Jelly's Blues" and all the titles on the CD are shown. There are
two of Clarence Williams and three each of Fowler and Blythe:

I am offering a test recording of the CD along with the notes to
MMD readers for $5.00 to cover the cost of burning and mailing.
I hope for corrections, updates and additions to the notes in order
to achieve the final version.
