Hi Group, I was wondering if anyone can help me with my quest, which
started in the latter part of the 1980's when the then Phillips Auction
rooms in Blenheim Place, London, sold an important Black Forest clock,
named the "Trumpeter Of Sackingen". Back then I couldn't afford it
and off it went -- sold for a king's ransom.
About four years ago I was told that this particular clock still
resided in the UK as it was sold to a member of the MBSGB. Exhaustive
enquiries have got me nowhere; one line suggested that it since went to
a collector in the N/York area, however, it does now appear that that
one was the example featured on the cover of Rick Ortenburger's book
on Black Forest clocks. So my guess and hope is, it is still here in
the UK.
If anyone in this group knows its whereabouts please either get in
touch or forward my details to the owner. If the clock couldn't be
purchased, then I would still like the opportunity of being able to
view it again someday. Thank you fellow MMD'ers.
Kind regards from Lancashire, UK,
Mark Singleton
