> Another option for a piano roll cabinet is an old TV cabinet ...
A great option that I used: I bought an assemble-it-yourself "Barrister's
bookcase". This is a tall bookcase with a nice glass-front door over
each shelf. Since it's an assemble-it-yourself kit, there was an
opportunity for me to add a piece of wood as a spacer to the back tacking
on the backboard, in order to make it deep enough for piano rolls.
Before assembly, I brought a shelf into the hardware store with me, and
I was able to exactly match the stain color for the spacer piece. Unless
you go right up next to it, you can't tell that the spacer didn't come
as part of the original assembly. It looks really great -- you can read
the piano roll names right through the glass doors, and the doors keep
the dust out.
