Motora Turbine Suction Pump in Duo-Art
By Niels Berkers

Hello all, Quite some time ago I inquired about the Motora pump
which is in my Steck upright Duo-Art. I got several reactions, from
it being a bad design to people telling me it can work pretty good when
well restored.

I finally got the thing disassembled and will do a quick-fix to it so
it'll run again and then I'll conclude whether I have to restore it or
not. I've seen some other Motoras by now and they all showed much more
wear than mine does. From that I conclude my pump isn't used that much
and so might still be doing the job.

I've placed some pictures of the pump on the Dutch Pianola Society
forum. In this topic are some more pictures of my Duo-Art pianola
which might be interesting. Click the following link:

I'm not sure yet what the next step is in getting the Motora to work,
I'll have to see what happens after I'm ready to plug it in (and blow
all the fuses probably). Any comments or advise is welcome.

Regards from the Netherlands,
Niels Berkers
