Moszkowski Pianola Piano Concerto Op. 59
By John Phillips

Hello MMD and Paul Camps. Apropos of Paul comment in MMD 090214
about the running time of Moszkowski's Op. 59, I have dug out my
Ondine CD of that concerto (Ondine ODE 818-2). The total time is
37m 31s and the individual movements run for: 1) 12m 31s, 2) 8m 52s,
3) 6m 56s, 4) 9m 9s. These times add up to a bit less, but I suppose
the short breaks between movements account for that. So, this
conductor and soloist did go a bit faster than Paul's 40 minutes.

I like this concerto a great deal. It's a shame it's not played very
often.

John Phillips in Hobart, Tasmania.
