FS: 88-note Piano Rolls (ca. 100)
By Harvey Chao
I have about 100 assorted older piano rolls for sale. Most appear to
be 1920s-30s or maybe older. I'd like to find them an appreciative
home.
I have an Excel spread sheet identifying each roll and a rough
characterization of its condition. I think that I have played almost
every roll at least once recently, if only to determine whether I
wanted to keep it; so the condition information is probably reasonably
accurate. I don't know any established standards of roll condition, so
I used my own.
I would like not to have to spend a lot of time breaking this lot up
into "onesy-twosies," but just ship it out in one or two shipments.
Right now it is in two medium-sized cartons of approximately fifty
rolls each.
Anyone interested please email me, and I'll send you a copy of the
spreadsheet.
How much do I want for them? Cost of shipping (I am in Santa Clara,
CA 95054). Anything beyond that which you think would be fair and
consistent with the going value of old 88-note rolls would be
appreciated. My primary concern is that the rolls not wind up as
trash. My sense is that this is music of another era that should not
be allowed to just evaporate. I am hopeful that someone will desire
these rolls.
