Shoo away the post-Christmas blues with the first of the Player Piano
Group Golden Jubilee events! On Saturday 31st January we are back at
the warm and cosy St Albans Organ Museum with "Pianola Big-Night Out"
featuring (yours truly) Adam Ramet and Julian Dyer. We have a very
interesting full length programme stacked with exceptional music,
a few surprises, a good laugh and (naturally) a thoroughly good night
out! The dance organs will also get played during the interval if
you've never been there and heard them before.
All tickets are £5.00 available on the door, or from Ron Hartwell
(tel: 01727 768652). The venue is St Albans Organ Theatre,
320 Camp Road, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 5PE (01727 869 693).
Level disabled access and easy parking, short drive from N London,
easily accessible from M25 etc.
Also featuring is a first public performance of my brand new
arrangement for pianola of Jaroslav Jezek's "Bugatti Step". This is
a very interesting piece for those who've never heard it -- a sort
of Czechoslovakian Kitten on the Keys. The piece remains incredibly
popular in Europe and numerous examples can be heard on YouTube
(including the original) but it's virtually unknown in the US and UK.
Copies of the new roll can be purchased on the night before the title
goes on sale next month together with a new issue of Joplin's "Solace"
