[In the 98.12.15 MMD Peter Coggins describes an Australian piano that
[has no pinblock but uses "a system designed by Vader (German) which
[has a full cast plate and which is about 1" thick where the pins go.
[The pins have a 3/8" tapered section and are 1-1/2" long. They push
[in from the back and have a locking screw which locks the taper up."

Hello,
I am writing to you about the article I found in your archives about
the Vader "Iron Tuning System." The Vader mentioned in the article was
my great grandfather, and I would like to find out some more
information about him and perhaps write a Wikipedia article about him
and the system he invented.
Being myself a musician and animator, I like to think of my great
grandfather as a creative forebear, if that is the right word. My
grandfather was an architect who could draw a perfect circle, had a par
zero at the golf course, and captained the NSW Australian Rules
football team. My father was a writer.
I live in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia
(telephone 02 66847486). I hope that someone reading this will be able
to add to my knowledge of my great grandfather Vader and his "Iron
Tuning System."
