Mastertouch & QRS Music Rolls in Australia
By Paul Rumpf

John Tuttle suggests that QRS had a storage/distribution centre in
Australia. I'm not sure this is true, but Mastertouch in the past
did produce rolls locally from QRS masters.

There are a number of roll titles in the Mastertouch catalog which
clearly are QRS. I believe this arrangement probably ceased around
1950. More than this I can't say but there may be others who know
better.

Mastertouch was owned by G.H. Horton but was sold off to Barclay
Wright, who struggled to get the sales volume up to an economic level.
I think the business closed about five years ago. The plant and
equipment went to the National Archives for preservation. (This means
it went to a museum and so the gear will never again work properly.)
