A-Rolls from Ed Gaida
By Don Teach

I just received and played an "A" roll cut by Ed Gaida made from a MIDI
file I sent him seven years ago. I would, of course, have to recommend
that if you own a piano that plays the "A" roll that you consider
adding this to your collection. It is a very listenable roll, listed
at http://www.edgaida.com/

This was also the first "A" roll ever made from a MIDI file, to my
knowledge, so it is indeed hand-played. Five of the tunes are well
known old tunes and five are made up songs. One collector I sent the
roll to complained there were not enough notes being played but he
would not take it off his piano.
