I am working on a 1925 Ampico A upright. Admittedly, I did not
make notes and diagrams on the tubing and various mechanisms involved
_before_ disassembly, figuring I could rely on my technical info
(books, schematics, etc.) and fall back on figuring it out. Big
mistake! This Ampico either has fewer parts than my tubing diagrams,
or I'm missing some parts.
I have the switch, the valve boxes with pneumatics attached, a spoon
valve that closes the port for Rewind or Shutoff, a cutout pouch with
three nipples, three tee fittings: one is typical 5/32", one also 5/32"
has a bleed on one end, the other is 3/8" on two ends with one end
a 5/32". I have not seen any screw holes where any missing parts
would go and I thoroughly cleaned my shop, finding nothing.
The two parts I don't have, which my schematic does, are a switch
primary valve and a part with two cut-out pouches. I would be willing
to pay $50-$75 for a diagram or a phone consultation to someone who
understands this setup and has successfully restored one of these and
had made a tubing diagram. A local Ampico expert was nice enough to
send me a schematic that he made for a yet another version (assuming
mine was like that.)
I could send money by PayPal or money order. I would prefer to spend
money rather than many hours figuring this repeat shut off out. Maybe
I can trade you some parts or tools, etc. Even if you just have one of
these Ampico systems with this Rewind/Shutoff setup, and better still
if everything works, maybe you can help me sort this out. Thanks for
reading.
