Hi MMDers, I am looking for technical books to help me learn more
about cylinder music box restoration. Looking at the list of books at
the MBSI web site http://www.mbsi.org/ I see listed from their library
"Music Box Handbook, Vol. 1" (cylinder boxes), 1984, by Graham Webb, and
"Cylinder Music Design and Repair" by H.A.V. Bulleid. How good is each
of these books, and is one better than the other concerning the details
of cylinder music box restoration? (Both of these are available from
Amazon.) Is there a better book?
Also (with respect to pneumatically operated instruments) for anyone
who has read Craig Brougher's book "The Orchestrion Builder's Manual
and Pneumatics Handbook", how detailed is it concerning valve
construction and restoration?
Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving
