There is a gentleman in Woodbridge, Connecticut, by the name of
Geoffrey Sive, who is in the process of publishing a 20+ volume
encyclopedia of pianos, their makers, etc., which will include
any mechanical musical instrument incorporating a piano into its
mechanism.

He has amassed what he claims is the largest collection of original
publications, patents, original drawings, etc., relating to this
subject.  He is part of a company called PianoTectonics LLC that
has also completely redesigned the grand piano.

The new encyclopedia will include copies of all of these original
publications, patents, drawings, catalogs, etc.  If you contact
