FS: Unusual Hupfeld Claviola Air Motor
By Paul Brennan
Hi All, I have removed a beautifully preserved air motor from an early
R. Lipp upright with Hupfeld Claviola player. This motor is made from
what appears to be aluminium valve housing with air channels of what
seems to be nickel plated brass, in good condition. The valve system
is very similar in design to the Gulbransen motor valve, but way more
attractive and (I think) more efficient. The motor is streamlined with
3-point pneumatics and I have the toggle tracker device that screws on
across the pneumatics. For a relatively small device it has suprising
performance.
Unfortunately what was originally a fine expression piano is beyond
restoration and this motor is surplus to my needs. Does anybody want
or need it? I will dispose of it for a nominal fee plus freight.
If not I will recondition and store it. Pictures are available on
request. The unit is located in Sydney, Australia, but it only weighs
a couple of kilos (maybe 4 or 5 pounds).
Best regards,
Paul Brennan
