The forthcoming Bonhams Fine Mechanical Music sale, on 18th November
2008 in London, concludes our mechanical music calendar with four
dedicated sales held for 2008. This fine sale of 68 lots includes
a selection of pre-1830 musical snuff boxes, various fusee singing bird
boxes of the rarest kind, a Grand-Format, a Karrer, an interchangeable
revolver, barrel organs on stands, the concluding Gerald Stonehill
archive, and of course the ever important gold, enamel, diamond and
other precious-stone encrusted musical vertu.
Also, two F. Nicole musical boxes, a fusee-driven clock base, two
musical pocket watches each with sur-plateau movements, two musical
watch keys, a Japy Frerés musical calendar alarm timepiece, a musical
erotic-themed desk compendium, and a very interesting super-mandoline
musical box with what appears to be bearing the serial number 1 --
and many, many more objects which you will want to see.
With viewing starting at 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday 16th
November, then Monday 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on the
morning of the sale on the 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, you are
warmly welcomed to join other members of the MBGSB, MBSI, CLPGS and
BVWS for at the very least a social gathering! We hope to take a group
photograph of as many attendees on the 18th morning view.
There is a drinks reception on the Monday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30
p.m., which you are welcome to attend, please contact me so I can place
your name on the list. To be sent a paperback catalogue, please call
