Roll boxes save rolls! First word of advice: loose rolls are easy
victims of mice, squirrels, silverfish, and water. I have seen where
water literally poured through a stack of rolls. Opening up the
cardboard boxes revealed heavily soaked roll boxes, but carefully
opening the individual roll boxes revealed the rolls to be very damp
but not wet!
If several days elapse after the soaking they will be damaged, so get
the rolls out of wet boxes as soon as possible. When the paper is
crinkled, I have put them in the freezer for a couple of days in a
plastic bag. Immediately after removing them from the freezer I used
a warm iron to flatten them out on a hard surface, and occasionally
I used a squirt of water from a spray bottle as you have to make sure
that you do not scorch the paper.
