A large number of visiting Fairground and Street Organs will attend
the Annual Organ Festival which will take place over two days at
Twinwood Airfield, near Bedford, England, on Saturday and Sunday,
11th and 12th October. (Many instruments will be different from those
at Cotton Museum, the previous weekend, as this is in a different part
of the country).
I do not think I have mentioned this event before but takes place at
the airfield from which Glenn Miller, the USA band leader, took off
from in December 1944 when he disappeared en-route to Paris, France.
The Glenn Miller museum and catering facilities will be open all
weekend.
The festival has a relaxed atmosphere, and will also include craft
stalls and World War Two vehicles and museum displays. A very
nostalgic and interesting, low cost event.
Adults: £5 entry (per day), children under 16 years free.
Camping package for two people: £27 -- this includes the entry for two
people and a camping pitch for the whole weekend. (The camping package
is only available by pre-booking. Only very basic camping facilities,
please ask when you book.) http://www.twinwoodevents.com/museums.html
I will be there for the two days with a sales stall so do come and say
hello, I will have some free copies of the Music Box magazine available
for anyone who might be interested in joining us.
