I attended the AMICA annual meeting in Southern California this summer,
and one of the high points was finally getting to hear an LX player
piano in person. I followed this up by making arrangements to acquire
a system for myself. I do not have the ideal piano to exploit the
amazing capabilities of this system but could not wait. So I will be
installing one in a suitable but less than ideal piano, until such time
as my dream piano becomes a reality.
In order to be qualified to install the system, I was required by Wayne
to attend (as all installers must do for very good reasons) a one-day
workshop designed to familiarize installers with the system's unique
installation requirements.
I am now the proud owner of a Stahnke LX player system and can hardly
wait to turn my piano upside down and get to work.
Seeing the system in person and discussing details was impressive to
say the least. This is one of the best engineering jobs I have ever
seen. I am very fussy when it comes to design, serviceability, and
ease of use, and I can find nothing to fault in this system. Wayne has
spared no expense nor development effort to produce a system that is
remarkable. Not only is it beautiful from an engineering perspective
but it produces the most perfect piano reproduction possible. It is so
refreshing in this day of mass produced products, rushed to market with
little more than production cost and profit in mind, to see -- and now
to own -- an exception to this trend. Yes I own one!
I will write again as soon as I have more to report.
