I have a customer with a retrofit nickelodeon setup needing parts.
It's a non-player Weiler piano. On the bottom it has been fitted
with an "O" roll frame completely made of plastic, including the
tracker bar. The coin drop does not seem to work at all.
Not that I have spent much time tracing hoses yet, however, I can
find two control hoses, one on the left and one on the right, I
assume for overall start and rewind. I haven't looked up the O-roll
controls yet, but it seems like absolutely none are hooked up except
the two mentioned above.
There is one single drive motor that drives the take-up spool and the
rewind, both by chains. When I push up on the pneumatic that starts
reroll, the motor tries but the gear seems to be stripped, like the
teeth have been rounded off. I assume I need the reroll gear. I didn't
have much chance today to get a really good look, but the drive motor
is no. 59P223376, dated 06/21/94. The whole system is driven from
a "canister" suction source with nipples and hoses coming off for
control purposes, I think.
To further try and identify this system, the top is atrocious.
It looks strangely close to a Price-Teeple setup, although it's
completely plastic. There are blocks of wood on each end to which
two rods are connected. On these bars are the plastic pneumatic
valve setup with small tubes connecting them together. These plastic
pneumatics can be adjusted and removed by a single Phillips-head screw.
The notes are activated by the pneumatic pushing up on what looks like
finishing nails sticking out from the note stickers.
This setup does not allow me to do action regulation and I am not
able to take the action out to replace some broken strings. Any help,
diagrams, hose schematics, O-roll controls, etc., would be most
appreciated.
