Dear Readers and all who responded to the other posts on this subject:
Thank you all dearly for the quick responses and I ask that more people
send their thoughts on this. I am writing this because there were so
many responses that I do not have time to respond to them all one at
a time (except for a 'thank you' note).
About "Phantom of the Opera", yes, the play was released in the
1980s but the new movie was released in 2005-2006 so it is not
completely strange and in fact is a favorite to some kids my age.
I never mentioned rap. I as an organist and a pianist and vocalist
I can rightly say the rap is not music and cannot be arranged for band
organs, etc. Just as well I never said that the modern arrangements
for draaiorgels and fairground organs completely contributed to the
increase of youth in their forums, but it helped a great deal.
To Adam Ramet: I have joined the I.M.O.D forum but I have not yet
posted anything, not even my intro. With the blessing of our editor
(of the M.M.D) could you please link my post on the I.M.O.D. forum
I would really appreciate it, thank you.
To Matthew Caulfield: I am glad to talk once again to a very honorable
man. Even kids my age would notice the organ but not really care about
it. (Some would pay some attention, with the real bug bitten like me,
but I was five then and still not yet corrupted by what we hear now.)
For the most part, kids will not care and they would even get bored.
Like I said, I really enjoy the oldies.
To all the rest: Thank you again for such wonderful and quick responses,
keep them coming. I do not wish that we completely get rid of the old
music, just to add some new music (such as some TV show themes, maybe
some rock, musicals, pop, etc.).
Sincerely,
Justin Senneff
